Privacy

What this site does with your visit

johanneshartlieb.com sets no cookies, runs no analytics, shows no advertising and has no accounts or forms. Two outside parties are contacted when pages open: Google, for typefaces on every page, and Heidelberg University Library, for two manuscript images on the Corpus page. This page says exactly what that means. Effective 2026-09-29.

Who runs this site

Honeycutt Ai Labs, Princeton, Texas, runs johanneshartlieb.com as a public research record of Johannes Hartlieb.

For a privacy question or a correction request, write to hello@honeycuttailabs.com or edwin@honeycuttailabs.com. Email is handled as ordinary correspondence and is not added to any list.

How the site is served and what the host keeps

The site is a set of plain files stored on Amazon S3 and delivered through Amazon CloudFront. No program of ours runs when you read a page.

Honeycutt Ai Labs has not turned on access logging for the site's storage or its CloudFront distribution, so the lab keeps no record of who visited or what they opened. Amazon, which hosts the files, receives each request as any web host does, including your network address and browser details, and handles it under its own terms and may keep its own operational records.

Cookies, analytics, advertising and browser storage

The site sets no cookies, loads no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts, and stores nothing in your browser.

There is no sign-in, no comment box and no form on any page, and the pages run no scripts of their own. Nothing you do on the site is sent to the lab.

The outside parties your browser contacts

Every page loads its typefaces from Google Fonts, and the Corpus page loads two images from Heidelberg University Library, so your browser sends requests to Google and, on that page, to Heidelberg.

johanneshartlieb.com This site, through Amazon CloudFront: pages, styles and images. Every page.
fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com Google Fonts: the Fraunces and Work Sans typefaces. Every page, including this one.
digi.ub.uni-heidelberg.de Heidelberg University Library: two manuscript images (Cpg 480 fol. 1r and Cpg 311 fol. 225r) shown on the Corpus page, loaded directly from the library's servers. Only the Corpus page.

Each request to Google or to Heidelberg University Library reveals your network address and browser details to that party, the way any file hosted by a third party does. The lab does not receive or store that information, and each party's own terms govern what it does with it. Every other image on the site is served from johanneshartlieb.com itself. The links to thevoynich.org and to libraries contact those sites only if you click them.

Changes to this notice
